Tuborg pres. Mogwai Live @ KLCC

Posted January 30th, 2009 at 9:00 am by Muna Noor

Approximately 1200 people lined up to attend the recent Mogwai gig, which went down at the KL Convention Centre in January. Supported by Tuborg, the Scottish post-rock band formed in 1995, and consists of Stuart Braithwaite, Dominic Aitchison, Martin Bulloch, Barry Burns, John Cummings.

Taking to the Tuborg Stage in Hall 5, Mogwai has a strong following in Malaysia and have also played in major music festivals such as Roskilde , Fuji Rock, Glasto and Reading among others. Fans Denvin, Bob, and Ben were the lucky winners who got to meet Mogwai in person, thanks to premium beer Tuborg, while remaining fans were treated to a generous 45-minute autograph session after the gig.

Here’s hoping this is the first of many more quality live music events scheduled for 2009 from the brand. While Tuborg was only recently launched in Malaysia in November 2007, music has always been synonymous with Tuborg, with the brand taking part of some of the world’s biggest music festivals and concerts, greenest of which is Roskilde in Denmark. They are already scheduled to support the Tuborg LiveStage at this year’s Sunburst KL International Music Festival in Bukit Kiara in March.

For more, log on to www.thefunstartshere.tv.  JUICE reports from the gig in the March issue of the magazine. Watch out for the interview with the band, coming soon to this site.

  1. This is terrible! I know you’re trying to make TUBORG happy, because they supported your mag, but please, be fair to your readers, please do a proper review on the show.

  2. Hi there, thanks for the comments. As I’ve mentioned at the end of the article we will be running a report of the concert in the March issue. However if that’s too long to wait rest assured we’ll be uploding it to this very website soon. Thanks!
