Beginning this Valentine’s Day, the speakeasy bar Mr Brooks will be home to veteran DJ/promoter Donovan Tho aka Da Funkie Junkie and a few of his buds as they will be at the helm of a weekly dance party. The idea for the party stemmed from the exclusive ‘invite-only’ parties and gigs that occurred way back in New York and Chicago. As an homage to David Mancuso’s Love Saves The Day Loft party, he hopes to recreate that experience through a mix of soul, funk, jazz, and inevitably, deep house and garage tunes.
