The singles Panic! has been releasing from their Death of a Bachelor album seem to have a spiritual theme behind it, but not in a preachy manner thankfully. ‘Emperor’s New Clothes’ shows the frontman being rejected from going into heaven and transforming into a demon — and it’s not a bad look surprisingly. The song embodies the usual Panic! recipe; dark lyrics concealed with enough synths and guitars to hide it from being obviously emo, making it a song to dance to instead.
